I decided to make a stand that was as unobtrusive and as invisible as possible and at the same time, was safe for the doll. We've all seen the plastic "between the legs" stands that come with some dolls. I had some problems with dolls falling off these stands but I was really worried about the plastics reacting with each other and melting. (You know, like that vintage doll that's had a wig on for the last 37 years!)
I chose to make the part of the stand that actually touches the doll out of STAINLESS STEEL and to make the base out of acrylic. I designed it so that it could be taken apart and slid down into the tightest dresses and even pants!
The NEW ADJUSTABLE MAD doll stand is even more versatile than the previous MAD stands! It adjusts up and down....so you can use it with a wide variety of dolls--tall or short! You can have your doll's feet touching the ground--or if you're worried about stress on the legs--raise the stand till the feet don't touch.

Half the fun of doll collecting is displaying the dolls in different outfits. Up until now, everytime you dressed a doll, you had to figure out where you were going to try to hide the stand. I got so tired of seeing my favorite fashions crushed by waist grabbing stands. If you put the stand under the outfit you end up with the waistline hiked up to the ribs and strange bulges. I knew something had to be done!
